In 1992, Nissan won the 24 Hours of Daytona with the R91CP, driven by Japanese drivers Kazuyoshi Hoshino, Toshio Suzuki, and Masahiro Hasemi. It was the first time a Japanese car company won this historic endurance race.
Tamiya has recreated this iconic race car in 1/10 scale using a detailed polycarbonate body with a driver cockpit interior. The highly detailed body is mounted on a direct-drive platform employing foam tires for superior traction on smooth driving surfaces.
This kit was originally released in 1992 and was released again in 2012.
Based around an ABS plastic bathtub chassis with space frames front and rear and FRP plates, the chassis uses a composite design that provides a rigid base to support its smooth suspension system. The result is a crisp and responsive driving experience.
At the front, the chassis features an independent coil-sprung kingpin suspension setup. The rear uses a rigid 3-point suspension design with a 1.5mm-thick FRP T-bar and a single CVA oil damper. Combined with sponge tires front and rear, the setup provides excellent traction on smooth asphalt and carpeted surfaces.
Spacers allow two different front and three different rear ground-clearance settings for additional setup options.
Note: LED lights cannot be attached to the separately molded front light cases.
