is finally available in the basic Mini-Z RWD model!
The appeal of Kyosho's ready-to-run sets is that you can immediately enjoy driving a full-fledged R/C car simply by opening the package and inserting the battery into the car body and transmitter. Among them, the small-scale Mini-Z Racer is ideal for people with little experience in R/C cars, thanks to its ease of use, which allows it to be driven indoors. The Mini-Z RWD, a ready-to-run set with a rear 2WD chassis that could be called the core model of the Mini-Z Racer, is being renewed with a new chassis! Until now, the ready-to-run sets have used the third-generation MR-03 chassis of the rear 2WD Mini-Z Racer, but this renewal will be based on the fourth-generation MR-04 chassis that debuted in 2023. While inheriting the basic design of the MR-03, the MR-04 has evolved significantly through a lower center of gravity and redesigned steering, and it debuted in the Mini-Z's top-of-the-line model, the EVO2, showcasing overwhelming speed and excellent handling. This MR-04 chassis is equipped with an R/C unit for ready-to-run sets and combined with a pre-assembled body of a quality comparable to display models. Even with the Ready-to-Run set, there are no changes to the materials of the chassis, maintaining the same high-end quality. The motor is an easy-to-handle 130-class brushed motor, and the transmitter is the popular steering wheel & gun-grip type Syncro KT-531P, ensuring excellent reliability. Simply install four AAA alkaline batteries in the chassis and transmitter, and it's ready to run. Not only can you enjoy driving it in its standard form, but with the wide range of Mini-Z option parts available, you can create a machine that can compete at the highest level in races. The Mini-Z RWD, which can be enjoyed for driving, tuning, and even as a display piece, invites owners to a higher level of authentic R/C car experience with its renewed MR-04 chassis.

This car made its debut at the 1996 24 Hours of Le Mans, winning its class (and finishing second overall). While it utilized the front section of the 993-generation Porsche 911, it adopted a mid-engine layout different from the road-going 911 and was equipped with an aerodynamic body optimized for Le Mans. Its bold graphics also attracted attention.
The MR-04 chassis retains the advantages of the MR-03 while achieving significant performance improvements through updates such as a lower center of gravity. It's also easier to drive, making it ideal as an entry-level R/C car.
The new front knuckle, which features an integrated kingpin, reduces the scrub amount by 1.5mm on each side compared to the MR-03, resulting in sharper and more linear handling. The ball bearings have been changed to a 3mm inner diameter type, successfully reducing rotational resistance.
The newly adopted suspension parts 2.0 optimize the caster angle, achieving a balance of maneuverability and stability in high-speed driving situations.
The vehicle uses four AAA alkaline or rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries for power. The battery mounting position is lower than that of the MR-03, resulting in a lower center of gravity for the entire chassis. This ensures stable cornering and straightforward handling.
The rear suspension, which absorbs and dampens shocks from the road surface to enhance driving stability, uses a coil spring damper. It is also possible to change to an optional oil-filled damper.
A T-bar type rear suspension plate that utilizes the flexibility of a plate that holds the entire unit, including the motor and rear tire, to achieve a suspension effect. FRP and carbon fiber versions are also available as optional parts.
All bearings are equipped with ball bearings that have low rotational resistance as standard. Since ball bearings of the same size are used for both the front and rear, spare parts are also easy to obtain.
When changing from the standard body, a parts set is included to adjust the front tread (vehicle width) to match the installed body. The rear tread is changed by altering the wheel offset.
The included Syncro KT-531P transmitter features a steering wheel and trigger-type throttle (speed control) style that mimics a real car's steering wheel. It is equipped with trim to adjust the neutral position of the steering and throttle, and dual rate to adjust the steering angle. It can also be operated in training mode (set to training mode at the time of shipment) with reduced vehicle speed.
