The Celestron Travel Scope 50 is a refractor telescope perfect for terrestrial and celestial viewing on the go. At night, the Travel Scope can be used to view the planets, Moon, star clusters, and brighter deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy. During the day, the included erect-image star diagonal makes the optical tube ideal for use as a spotting scope.
Setting up the telescope is a breeze and will have you observing in no time. Even on your first outing, you can assemble the telescope and its accessories in just a few minutes. The adjustable tripod legs allow you to customize the telescope's height or place it on raised surfaces such as a picnic table. The complete telescope kit weighs just 2.2 pounds, making it perfect for impromptu observing sessions or transporting wherever life's adventures take you.
Navigate the sky using the pan-handle Alt-Az control with clutch for smooth and accurate pointing. Move the telescope in an up/down and left/right fashion to locate and track your object in the eyepiece.
The Travel Scope 50 comes with two eyepieces, a 20mm and 8mm, a 45° erect-image diagonal, 3x Barlow lens, 2x20 finderscope, and a travel backpack.
The two eyepieces provide different magnifications for viewing your intended object. The erect-image diagonal provides right-side-up viewing, making it ideal for terrestrial subjects while also being suitable for celestial observing. The 2x20 finderscope helps you quickly center an object in your eyepiece for easier observation.
Connect the included 3x Barlow lens to your eyepieces to increase magnification. The 3x Barlow lens provides magnification options of up to 60x and 135x with the included eyepieces.
A custom backpack is included for comfortably storing and transporting the optical tube, tripod, eyepieces, and accessories. All components fit neatly inside, making traveling with your telescope easy and convenient.
